Richard A. Carlucci, Managing Partner
For over 35 years, Richard A. Carlucci has been a steadfast advocate for clients across South Jersey, trying complex civil matters in both state and federal courts. Rich maintains an active civil litigation trial practice and has successfully represented plaintiffs and defendants in a broad range of disputes.
His experience spans construction defect litigation, where he has represented both developers and condominium associations through every phase of a case. He is well versed in family law, employment law, civil rights litigation, and commercial law. Notably, Rich represented elected officials in the interpretation of the Faulkner Act in Styles v. Township, a reported decision that reflects his depth in municipal and constitutional issues.
Rich’s approach combines thorough preparation with courtroom experience. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, 1989, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, 1995, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, 2005.
Before entering law, Rich spent ten years as a professional baseball pitcher in the Toronto, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Cincinnati, and New York Yankees minor league systems. He played on several championship teams and earned two Triple-A World Series rings. That same commitment carries into his community work. He has devoted years to coaching youth and adult baseball in Egg Harbor Township, Barnegat Township, and Ocean City.

Gary R. Griffith, Esquire - 1952-2026
Gary R. Griffith co-founded Griffith and Carlucci and practiced law for 49 years with legal skill, civic devotion, and warmth. His practice spanned banking law, real estate, development and financing, municipal law, zoning and planning, landlord tenant matters, corporate law, trusts and estates, and related litigation in state and federal courts.
Deeply connected to Ocean City, Gary served as solicitor to the Planning Board, sat on the School Board, and taught Casino Law at the community college. He was appointed to the District I Ethics Committee by the Supreme Court of New Jersey and served as a trustee for the Atlantic County Bar Association. He coached women’s softball and a state champion mock trial team, judged the Miss Ocean City pageant, and owned a Christian bookstore and seasonal fudge shop.
A graduate of Ursinus College, BA History, 1974, cum laude, and the University of Richmond School of Law, 1977, Gary was admitted to the New Jersey Bar, the U.S. District Court, the Third Circuit, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Those who knew Gary remember his guiding principle: if you’re going to do something, do it right. For Gary, that meant exceptionally, gratefully, and with humor. An elder at First Presbyterian Church in Ocean City, he lived with faith, enthusiasm, and community spirit. From lifeguarding in Wildwood to Springsteen concerts, he embraced life fully.
Gary and his wife Sharon made Ocean City home for decades and raised four children. His legacy lives on in the firm he helped build and in the lives he touched as an attorney, mentor, and friend.
